Rotary History John
I have a bulletin from March 18, 1977, and it has a brief history of the club. I would be happy to share that with you. It stated that the Hartwell Rotary Club was organized on March 19, 1937 by the Elberton Rotary Club. It has who the charter members are and who the board of directors were with much more info. Also It has comments from James W. Bell Sr., John Walker-Herndon, Flenn Bell and the first two charter members, Carey Kidd and W. T (Bill) Yarbrough. The Hartwell Rotary club was club of the Year 1975-1976--Harry Holding was president. And list all the presidents from 1937 unitl 1977. Let me know if you would like for me to bring it to you. I would love to have the old bulletin (or a copy). I would also like to have any historical "artifacts" concerning our club's history that might come from any of our other members. Of course the more that is contributed the easier the job will be for me to get all of this together. Thanks again for your contribution.
